Screen International recently described Phil as "one of the most exciting new talents emerging across the UK film industry ... a gloriously playful sense of humour ... his work has something of the Charlie Kaufman about it".

Phil has directed TV, short films, music videos and commercials - and has a number of feature films in development. His first feature-length screenplay (co-written with Ben Rice) has just been directed by Peter Cattaneo ('The Full Monty') and will be released in November 2005.
