    <title>Betrayal
</title>
    <link>http://www.pfd.co.uk/scripts/newsitem.py?14378</link>
    <description>**Betrayal**, written by Harold Pinter, directed by Roger Michell and starring [Sam West][1], [Toby Stephens][2] and Dervla Kirwin has opened at The Donmar Warehouse to outstanding reviews:

"I have never seen the play better performed than it is here in a sparely designed, beautifully acted production...

Toby Stephens plays Jerry with puppyish charm but also brings a depth of pain and vulnerability one rarely encounters in Pinter, especially in the deeply moving moment when he is suddenly overwhelmed by fear, guilt, memory and desire as the affair nears its bitter end...

Best of all, perhaps, is Samuel West, who brings a scary chill to the stage as the cuckolded Robert, rejoicing in the power of knowledge even as he suffers the humiliation of betrayal, and never more dangerous than when smiling sweetly at either his wife or his devious and deceived friend. This is a masterly production of a masterpiece and I can't recommend it too highly." Charles Spencer - The Telegraph
